Senior Application Engineer, Application Shared Services

Pega’s Applications Team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Application Engineer to help us set a new vision for world-class release engineering solutions. This position will be responsible for release engineering activities widely ranging from collaborations, coordination, planning, and execution enabling the quality releases for our customers.

The Engineer is responsible for working with various Application product teams. And plays a key role in each product release. Executing the release plan, scheduling meetings, and keeping stakeholders updated with release status, status from time to time.

What You'll Do At Pega

DevOps

Deep knowledge of CI (Continuous Integration) and CD (Continuous Deployment) methodologies with Jenkins. experience with automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and monitor their applications.

• Tool administration experience in any of the following along with good scripting knowledge like Shell, Python, Groovy
• Configuration management tools like SVN, TFS, GIT, etc.
• Build tools like GITHub Actions, Jenkins, Hudson, and Bamboo and build scripts like ANT, Gradle, Maven
• Create/maintain GitHub or bitbucket or any other repositories
• Strong experience with Git, GitHub Enterprise, and GitHub Actions.
• Working knowledge on converting and optimizing Jenkins pipelines into GitHub Actions workflows is a plus.
• Build tools for internal use to support software engineering best practices.
• Coordinating with various Product Teams
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Groovy).
  

Cloud

• Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest any changes/enhancements
• Good knowledge of VPC, CloudFormation, etc.
• Usage of EC2, Security Groups, and various AWS services
• Good to have knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Having used ECS or EKS, or whichever technologies you are looking to use in the past is a plus.
• Exposure to different cloud providers like AWS, GCP, and Azure
  

Who You Are

You will be the go-to member for product teams for any information related to releases, builds, Cloud Provisioning, Cloud Administration, Monitoring, DevOps, or any other Cloud queries. You will also organize and present a range of release processes to a variety of audiences.

What You've Accomplished

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 4-6 years of relevant experience
• Working Knowledge with SCM tools, AWS
• Familiarity with Release/SDLC process
• Eagerness to learn new things
• Collaboration with more than 2(or)3 teams for a release/deliverable
• Demonstrable technical writing and editing skills; ability to explain complex concepts and processes clearly and effectively
