Role Description Ø To be knowledgeable about the program(s) for which students are advising. Ø To either assist in career planning or to refer to campus resources for such assistance. Ø Educating students and parents about the University, the university admissions process, trends, procedures, and testing; advising and supporting classes of 30-50 seniors and families as they go through the process; and helping students and families aspire realistically and choose wisely. Ø To be familiar with published academic rules and regulations of the University and to maintain an up-to-date academic advising reference file containing current program area, college, and University materials pertinent to advising. Ø Face To Face Counselling. Ø Tele-Counselling. Ø Online / Chat Counselling Ø Making regular follow up with students using an appropriate combination of face-to-face meetings or tele-counselling, e-mail, on-line communications, etc., in order to address one or more of the above points on a regular and developing basis. Ø Calling on the data assigned. Ø Maintain the record of each and every student in CRM. Ø Keeping track of admission decisions, statistics, and making a daily report. Ø Assisting students with the planning of short-term and long-term targets for development. Ø Proactively monitoring both academic performance and student engagement and advising on constructive strategies for improvement as necessary. Ø To plan & help in organizing events, seminars, counseling sessions, workshops etc. in the campus of RNBGU. Ø To attend high school, college fairs, campus tours & other community events for counseling, promotion & data collection activities. (Minimum four per month) Ø To Organize & deliver seminars in schools, colleges and educational institutes for creating awareness about the University. Ø To conduct Face to Face counselling sessions in the campus of RNBGU. Ø To organise/conduct campus tours for students and parents visiting the University. Ø Data Generation from different online as well offline sources. Qualifications Ø Minimum 3-5 years of experience in University admissions or college counseling is must. Ø Necessary skills include excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability and the ability to meet deadlines. Ø Travelling to anywhere in India is mandatory. Ø Teaching experience & Computer skills are preferable. Ø Listening skills. Ø Counsellor to be proactive in communicating with their students and to escalate such efforts as required. Ø Sensitivity and empathy. Ø Patience and a calm manner. Ø Ability to cope with emotional situations. Ø Ability to relate to a wide range of people. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of colleges, their academic programs, admission policies, financial policies and procedures.
