Senior Accountant (Payroll Tax Accounting)

As a Senior Accountant at TriNet, you will play a crucial role in applying GAAP principles to perform various financial tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance. Here is a breakdown of what you will be responsible for: - Responsible for monthly financial close activities including preparation, review, and posting of journal entries - Conduct reconciliation and analysis of complex balance sheet and income statement accounts - Prepare monthly and quarterly fluctuation analyses for management reporting and analytics - Analyze and document account variances among large data sets - Document policies and procedures as necessary - Support SOX compliance in assigned areas of the business - Provide assistance to finance management and other internal customers as needed - Lead and assist in various audits throughout the year - Investigate variances and collaborate with business partners to resolve discrepancies - Assist and support cross-functional projects as required - Comply with all policies and standards Qualifications required for this role include: Education: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required - Chartered Accountant preferred Experience: - Typically 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting preferred - Experience in Fortune 1000 size company (publicly traded) with high volume transactions and disciplined close process preferred Skills and Abilities: - Theoretical and practical grasp of US GAAP - Understanding of accounting processes and ERP systems - Experience in SOX control execution/documentation desirable - Proficiency in MS Office Suite, advanced Excel skills required - Experience in Oracle/Oracle fusion preferred - Effective verbal and written communications - Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills - Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment - Strong analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously - Willingness to learn and develop new skills - Ability to work across Time Zones (North America) - Ability to follow up on pending issues, take initiative, and solve problems Additionally, the work environment for this position is described as a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting.
