Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant position involves overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic insights to enhance financial performance. A deep understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and leadership abilities are essential for this role. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, conducting month-end and year-end closings, and presenting detailed financial statements such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for assisting in budgeting, forecasting, monitoring financial performance, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, corporate laws, and internal policies, as well as coordinating audits. In addition, the Senior Accountant will lead and mentor a team of junior accounting staff, review their work for accuracy and adherence to standards, identify and implement process improvements, and stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and best practices. Special projects assigned by senior management and providing financial insights to cross-functional teams are also part of the job responsibilities. Qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a professional qualification like CA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent preferred. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role, is required. Proficiency in accounting software, MS Office Suite (especially Excel), knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and taxation laws are key technical skills needed for this position.
