We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Architect – Cybersecurity to lead the design and development of our enterprise security architecture. This role will play a critical part in defining the long-term cybersecurity vision and ensuring alignment between business goals and secure technology solutions. The ideal candidate is a thought leader, capable of influencing at the executive level while providing deep technical expertise across cybersecurity domains.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Security Architecture & Strategy
Define, develop, and maintain the enterprise-wide security architecture and roadmap.
Align security initiatives with enterprise architecture and business goals.
Identify gaps in existing security capabilities and define architectural solutions.
Technical Leadership
Provide architectural guidance on secure design and implementation of systems, networks, applications, and cloud services.
Lead the evaluation and selection of security tools and platforms.
Set technical direction and provide mentorship to engineering and security teams.
Governance & Risk Management
Partner with risk and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA).
Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews for major initiatives.
Define and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices.
Collaboration & Influence
Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and application development teams to embed security into SDLC and DevSecOps processes.
Engage with executive leadership to communicate risk posture and advocate for cybersecurity investments.
Serve as a security subject matter expert (SME) in cross-functional planning efforts.
Innovation & Research
Stay up-to-date with emerging threats, trends, and technologies in cybersecurity.
Evaluate new tools, methods, and services to improve security posture and operational efficiency.

Security Architecture & Engineering

Enterprise security architecture frameworks (e.g., SABSA, TOGAF, Zachman)

Secure network architecture (e.g., segmentation, firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN)

Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and implementation

Cloud security architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Security controls integration across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS

API and microservices security

Identity and Access Management (IAM), SSO, MFA, and federation

Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and cryptography

Endpoint detection and response (EDR), SIEM, SOAR

Application & DevSecOps

Secure SDLC practices and frameworks (e.g., BSIMM, OWASP)

Threat modeling and secure code review

CI/CD security integration (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab)

Container and Kubernetes security

Application vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Snyk, Veracode, Checkmarx)

Threat, Risk, & Compliance

Threat modeling and attack surface reduction

Security risk assessment and mitigation planning

Regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR)

Cybersecurity maturity assessments

Incident response architecture and planning
