Security and Loss Prevention Officer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced professional to safeguard our plant operations, assets, employees, and inventory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing security protocols, investigating incidents, mitigating risks, and driving compliance with internal and statutory safety norms. This position is critical to maintaining a safe and secure environment at our manufacturing facility, with a strong focus on loss prevention, asset protection, vendor coordination, and people management.

Key Responsibilities

1.Security Operations Management

• Oversee all day-to-day security operations at the plant premises.
• Monitor entry/exit points, visitor access, and vehicle movement through security systems and manual checks.
• Manage security guards, supervisors, and third-party security personnel; ensure appropriate deployment and discipline.

2.Loss Prevention & Risk Mitigation

• Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in plant operations (including raw material, finished goods, packaging material, etc.).
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, pilferage, theft, or suspicious incidents, and prepare detailed incident reports.
• Coordinate with internal audit, legal, and operations teams to implement preventive measures.

3.Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with statutory norms related to industrial safety and security (e.g., Fire NOC, Factory Act requirements).
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation including visitor records, incident reports, patrol logs, gate pass records, and CCTV footage.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.

4.Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Management

• Develop and conduct emergency response drills (fire, medical, evacuation).
• Liaise with local law enforcement, fire department, and other emergency services as required.
• Train plant personnel on basic safety and emergency response protocols.

5.Technology & Surveillance

• Monitor and manage CCTV systems, fire alarms, access control systems, and other electronic surveillance.
• Coordinate with IT and facility teams for installation, maintenance, and upgrades.

6.People & Vendor Management

• Lead, train, and supervise internal security staff and external vendors.
• Evaluate security service providers performance and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct regular briefings and performance reviews with the security team.

What are we looking for:

Education:

• Graduate in any discipline.
• Certification in Industrial Security / Fire & Safety / Loss Prevention preferred.

Experience:

• 8-12 years of experience in Security & Loss Prevention roles, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG industries.
• Prior experience in plant security operations is mandatory.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of plant security protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Investigative mindset with sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of access control systems, CCTV, and security tech.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential information.
