Position Summary: The Manager of Training is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and management of all training programs across the organization. This individual will ensure that every security officer is equipped with the knowledge, skills, and certifications required to perform their duties effectively, professionally, and in compliance with all state and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader, an expert in security protocols, and a passionate educator dedicated to elevating the standards of the security profession. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (JD): Design, develop, and continuously update a comprehensive training curriculum for all security personnel, including new hires, in-service, and specialized training. Develop training materials, including lesson plans, presentations, manuals, online modules, and practical exercises. Ensure all training programs meet or state licensing requirements under PSARA Act, client-specific mandates, and industry best practices. Identify emerging security trends and integrate relevant topics into the training curriculum. Lead and conduct engaging and effective training sessions in various formats: classroom, virtual, and hands-on field training. Instruct on critical topics including, but not limited to: De-escalation, Limitations of Security Officers, Access Control & Patrol Procedures, Emergency Response (Fire, Medical, Bomb Threat), Report Writing & Documentation, Client/Customer Service & Professional Conduct. In addition to lessons on basic guarding skills & the rudiments of First Aid, fire fighting- Fire prevention and control, Health and safety at work, Evacuation procedure, Handing taking over procedure and handling of keys. Knowledge of post wise instruction and unit instructions, & Disaster Management etc. Manage and maintain the company's training calendar to ensure all personnel receive timely and required training. Maintain meticulous and auditable training records for all employees, tracking certifications, qualifications, and expiration dates. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external training audits. Conduct train-the-trainer sessions for Fos, Supervisors to maintain a high standard of instruction. Develop and administer written and practical exams to assess officer competency. Work closely with Operations Managers to identify performance gaps and develop targeted training interventions. Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of all training programs. Utilize a Training Management System (TMS) programme to track progress and report on training metrics. Desired Candidate profile / Qualifications & Experience Required : Minimum of 5 years of experience in the security industry, with at least 4 years in a training or instructional role. Proven experience in curriculum development and instructional design. In-depth knowledge of security operations, use-of-force laws, and emergency response protocols etc. Possession of, or ability to obtain, all state-required security instructor certifications. Exceptional public speaking, presentation, and communication skills. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with high attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience / ability to handle the Training Management Systems (TMS). Preferred : Experience in a corporate security training environment.
