About the role

Section Head


Key Responsibilities

  • Design of Experiments (DoE)

    : Lead the planning, validation, and analysis of DoEs with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and enhance process efficiency.
  • Process Oversight

    : Manage process changes, conduct stack-up analysis, and oversee Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (FACA) reviews to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Strategic Process Planning

    : Develop roadmaps, assess risks, and ensure resource availability to meet customer timelines and yield goals.
  • Issue Resolution

    : Promptly resolve escalations, such as equipment failures or fixture damages, to maintain engineering test schedules.
  • Engineering Leadership

    : Define KPIs, manage resources (Man, Machine, Material, Method), create SOPs, and finalize engineering documents using CMS/PLM systems.
  • Project Coordination

    : Ensure timely task execution across New Product Introduction (NPI), product design, and FACA teams.
  • Team Leadership

    : Direct a large team, including 3-5 Group Leads, by setting goals, assigning tasks, and defining Key Result Areas (KRAs).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • Experience:

    15-18 years in assembly manufacturing processes.
  • Certifications (Preferred):

    Six Sigma, ASTM, PMP.
  • Must-Have Skills:

  • Expertise in assembly processes (glue dispensing, laser welding, laser deburring, screw assembly, small parts assembly).
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of automation processes.
  • Proficiency in inspection statistical tools and process capability analysis.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of cosmetic features and inspections.
  • Experience in troubleshooting assembly issues.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
