The role involves identifying new business opportunities, retaining and growing existing customer accounts, and contributing to the division’s profitability and market share through effective sales strategies, negotiation, and application engineering expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Development
- Achieve sales and revenue targets through strategic sales planning and execution.
- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities in sectors such as
Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, Power, Construction, Mining, Steel, Defence, and Heavy Engineering.
- Revive and strengthen relationships with old key customer accounts in both public and private sectors.
- Develop long-term customer partnerships and tie-ups for capacity allotment and recurring business.
2. Customer Relationship Management
- Build, maintain, and enhance relationships with customers through regular visits, reviews, and prompt service.
- Understand customer applications, challenges, and expectations to offer effective cylinder solutions.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
3. Technical & Application Engineering
- Provide
technical guidance
for product selection, design parameters, and application suitability based on catalog standards or specific customer needs. - Coordinate with internal
Design, Production, and Service
teams to deliver optimal solutions. - Support in
installation, commissioning, and after-sales service.
- Handle both
standard and non-standard hydraulic cylinder applications.
4. Market Analysis & Strategy
- Conduct
market research
to track industry trends, emerging applications, and competitor activities. - Prepare
sales forecasts, market intelligence reports,
and identify new product development opportunities. - Support management in developing pricing, promotion, and product strategies.
5. Order & Process Management
- Manage the end-to-end sales cycle: inquiry, technical proposal, quotation, negotiation, order finalization, and payment follow-up.
- Ensure timely order processing, dispatch coordination, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM and ERP systems.
6. Team Leadership (for Manager Level)
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of
Sales & Application Engineers.
- Monitor performance against sales budgets and targets.
- Guide the team in technical discussions, deal closures, and application support.
7. Reporting & Performance Review
- Prepare and present
management reports
on sales performance, profit contribution, market share growth, and pipeline status on weekly basis - Monitor
payment collections
and profitability vis--vis divisional goals. - Continuously identify areas for improvement in the sales process and customer engagement.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree
in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
or related discipline.- Postgraduate qualification in
Business Management (MBA / PGDM)
with strong commercial acumen preferred.
Experience:
Sales Engineer Level:
2–5 years of experience in technical sales of industrial or hydraulic components.Sales Manager Level:
7–10+ years of experience in the hydraulic or heavy industrial products sector with leadership responsibilities.
Core Skills:
- Strong understanding of
Hydraulic Systems, Cylinders, Pumps, Valves, and Components.
- Excellent
sales, negotiation, and communication
skills. - High level of
commercial awareness
and strategic thinking.
