Job Description

Position: Sales Officer / Asst Manager / Deputy Manager - Commodity Food products

Department:

Role Purpose

bulk sales (institutional, wholesale, HORECA)

Key Responsibilities

Bulk Sales (B2B / Institutional / Wholesale)

  • Achieve bulk sales targets from

    wholesalers, hotels, bakeries, caterers, food processors, and sweet shops

    .
  • Develop long-term relationships with bulk buyers for sustained business.
  • Negotiate price, credit, and delivery terms within company guidelines.
  • Track competitor activities, pricing, and offers in the bulk segment.
  • Ensure high-volume movement (MT metric tons) and repeat orders.

Retail Sales (General Trade / Modern Trade)

  • Achieve retail sales targets across

    stores, supermarkets, departmental stores & modern trade outlets

    .
  • Expand numeric & weighted distribution ensure maximum product availability.
  • Execute trade promotions, schemes, and merchandising activities.
  • Ensure shelf visibility, proper product display, and freshness (FIFO).
  • Conduct regular market visits to monitor competitors and gather insights.

Channel & Distribution Management

  • Appoint and manage distributors/stockists in assigned areas.
  • Support distributors to maintain ROI and ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Coordinate supply chain for timely product availability.

Collections & Reporting

  • Ensure timely collections and credit management as per company policy.
  • Submit daily/weekly/monthly sales reports and market intelligence updates.
  • Track achievement of primary and secondary sales targets.

Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate / MBA in Marketing / Any discipline.
  • Sales experience in

    FMCG / Commodity Foods (Flour, Atta, Maida, Sooji, Rice, Pulses, Edible Oil, etc.)

    .
  • Experience in handling both

    bulk (institutional/wholesale)

    and

    retail/general trade

    sales.

  • Strong ability to

    face the market confidently

    and influence buyers.
  • Well-connected with a

    good network in the commodity / FMCG industry

    .
  • A true

    go-getter with result-oriented mindset

    .
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and target-driven personality.
  • Willing to travel extensively

    within the assigned territory.
  • Preferably with experience in

    Atta, Maida, Sooji, or other commodity food product sales

    (bulk & retail).
