Deputy Manager Sales (Automotive OEM)

Location: Pune, India

Reports to: Sales Manager India

Industry: Automotive / Chemical (Sealing Solutions)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and result-oriented Deputy Manager – Sales to join our Automotive Sealing Solutions division. This role requires a strong mix of account management and new business development capabilities, with a focus on building long-term relationships with leading global and Indian OEMs. The candidate will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth in Western India, especially Pune, by promoting our advanced sealant technologies and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Key Account Management

  • Handle day-to-day commercial and technical communication with existing OEM customers
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, timely deliveries, and quick resolution of quality or logistics concerns
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, consumption trends, and forecasts from existing customers

New Business Development

  • Identify and approach potential OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers in the region
  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers in Purchase, R&D, and Plant teams
  • Drive the RFQ process, coordinate technical approvals, and convert opportunities into long-term business

Sales Planning & Execution

  • Create territory-wise sales strategies to meet growth targets
  • Maintain updated sales pipelines and visit plans in CRM or internal tools
  • Prepare pricing proposals, cost sheets, and commercial justifications

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with internal teams: R&D, Production, Logistics, and Quality
  • Support customer audits, product trials, and approval documentation
  • Ensure timely responses for sample requirements, approvals, and post-sales support

Market Intelligence

  • Stay updated on competitor products, pricing, and market trends
  • Identify gaps and suggest product improvements or positioning strategies
  • Participate in exhibitions, customer events, and networking opportunities

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical preferred)
  • MBA in Marketing / International Business is an added advantage

Work Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in automotive B2B sales (OEM-focused)
  • Strong exposure to customer-facing roles, technical product sales, or solution-based selling
  • Experience with sealing solutions, adhesives, coatings, or chemical-based components preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Self-starter with a proactive, problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel across India based on business needs

Location Preference

  • Based in Pune or willing to relocate
  • Familiarity with Pune’s automotive belt is desirable
