Job Description

Inside Sales Engineer

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Sales Support & Lead Qualification

  • Respond to customer inquiries, RFIs, and RFQs promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in qualifying sales leads and forwarding high-potential opportunities to field sales teams.
  • Act as the first point of contact for clients in the initial sales cycle.

2. Proposal & Quotation Preparation

  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and bid documents based on client requirements.
  • Coordinate with estimation, engineering, and procurement teams to compile accurate costing and solution details.
  • Ensure proposals meet all compliance requirements as per the tender/RFQ documents.

3. Customer Communication & Coordination

  • Maintain regular communication with clients for follow-ups, clarifications, and feedback.
  • Work closely with external sales, marketing, and project teams to ensure smooth pre-sales engagement.
  • Schedule and coordinate virtual meetings, presentations, and demos with clients as required.

4. CRM & Documentation

  • Maintain customer data, opportunity tracking, and activity logs in CRM systems.
  • Generate reports on sales pipeline, quotation status, and customer engagement.
  • Keep records of all correspondence, submitted proposals, and project documentation.

5. Product & Technical Knowledge

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's EPC offerings across sectors (power, oil & gas, water, infrastructure, etc.).
  • Stay updated on new solutions, technical changes, and market trends relevant to the EPC industry.
  • Assist in preparing technical literature and case studies for sales and marketing use.

6. Cross-functional Coordination

  • Liaise with internal teams including engineering, procurement, project management, and finance for proposal inputs.
  • Assist marketing teams in updating product documentation and digital content.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to obtain vendor quotations and lead time estimates.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and EPC project processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM software (like Salesforce, Zoho, etc.), and document preparation tools.
  • Strong coordination and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail in preparing technical and commercial documents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related)

    Mandatory

  • Diploma in Sales/Marketing or MBA –

    Preferred

  • 2–6 years of experience in Inside Sales / Pre-Sales / Proposal Engineering in EPC, industrial, or construction sectors.

Preferred Domain Knowledge (if applicable):

  • Power Projects (Solar, Thermal, Hydro)
  • Oil & Gas (Pipelines, Terminals)
  • Water & Wastewater (STP, ETP, WTP)
  • Industrial or Infrastructure EPC Projects
