hands-on, entrepreneurial SaaS Sales Leader

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Setup & Strategy

  • Establish the complete sales framework for the US market lead generation, qualification, pitching, negotiation, and closure.
  • Identify target market segments, ICP (Ideal Customer Profile), and buyer personas for SaaS offerings.
  • Develop pricing models, sales collateral, scripts, and onboarding materials.

2. Pipeline Development & Management

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline using CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
  • Drive outbound and inbound sales strategies cold emailing, LinkedIn outreach, webinars, and partner channels.
  • Collaborate with marketing to optimize lead generation campaigns and conversion rates.

3. Direct Sales & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage directly with decision-makers (CXOs, CTOs, Product Managers) in the US region.
  • Conduct product demos, proof-of-concepts, and customized presentations tailored to client needs.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and close enterprise and mid-market SaaS deals.

4. Technical & Product Understanding

  • Develop a deep understanding of the SaaS product, features, integrations, and competitive positioning.
  • Work closely with the product team to provide client feedback and influence the roadmap.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and customer success handover post-sales.

5. Sales Reporting & Metrics

  • Define and track KPIs such as conversion rate, ARR, CAC, sales velocity, and churn.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly sales reports for leadership, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Implement data-driven decision-making for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Experience:

  • 9-15 years

    in SaaS sales with at least

    3+ years

    selling to the US market.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling sales functions in early-stage/startup environments.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle prospecting to closure.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, metrics, and buyer behavior in the US market.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-savvy with experience in CRM, sales automation tools, and data analytics.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working in a US-based SaaS company or with US clients.
  • Knowledge of relevant SaaS verticals (to be specified based on product focus).
