We now have an opportunity for a risk and insurance professional to join the international team in the Global Risk Management group, based in Delhi, India.Reports to Risk Manager - International Operations, based in Glasgow, UK.
Responsibilities
- Lead advisor role to the business on insurance and risk management in India, Middle East and elsewhere as required.
- Manage the insurance programme in the India, Middle East and elsewhere as required, including annual policies and project placements.
- Supports the objectives and needs of Jacobs’ Global Risk Management operations.
- Advise regional management on all aspects of their insurance and risk exposures and policy coverage.
- Ensures that insurance arrangements comply with local insurance laws and statutes.
- Review, assess and negotiate insurance obligations in contracts including contracts with clients for engineering, construction and other professional technical services, supplier obligations and joint venture agreements.
- Minimise insurance spend whilst maximising the protection for the company and understand how to contribute value to Jacobs’ business.
- Manage and control internal and external regional resources, including outsourced suppliers, brokers and insurers.
- Work with in-house counsel, operations, brokers, insurers and adjustors on the swift and beneficial resolution of claims matters.
- Develop and deliver training materials and presentations to internal and external groups.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with colleagues in Operations, Sales, Legal and Safety.
- Participates in special projects as required, specifically acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

Here's what you'll need
- Qualified with a primary degree, in a related subject, from a leading university
- Recognised professional qualification in insurance or risk management or a post-graduate business qualification would offer an advantage.
- 10 plus years relevant experience in insurance/risk management, gained with an international broker, insurer or an in-house risk management role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to explain insurance and risk issues to Jacobs’ Operations and Sales teams. Additional language skills would offer an advantage.
- Must have sound analytical skills and the ability to understand Jacobs’ operations, its business strategy and the risks therein.
- Experience of risk management strategies to avoid, transfer and finance risk, including self-insurance
