Job Description: GC–MS/MS & LC–MS/MS Analyst (1–2 Years’ Experience)
Department: Residue Analysis
Industry: Food Testing Laboratory (FSSAI/NABL 17025)
Location: Gujarat / Rajasthan
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated GC–MS/MS & LC–MS/MS Analyst with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in pesticide residue testing, contaminants analysis, or food/agri product testing. The role involves sample preparation, instrument operation, basic troubleshooting, calibration, and adherence to NABL ISO/IEC 17025 guidelines.
The candidate will work with advanced mass spectrometry platforms (Agilent/Sciex/Waters/Shimadzu/Thermo) for routine testing of spices and other food products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instrument Operation (GC–MS/MS & LC–MS/MS)
● Perform daily system checks, tuning, calibration, and QC verification.
● Set up acquisition methods, MRM transitions, retention times, and instrument sequences.
● Ensure stable performance: peak shape, sensitivity, ion ratios, RT consistency.
● Perform basic troubleshooting (source cleaning, inlet maintenance, liner change, vacuum checks, column trimming, etc.).
2. Sample Preparation
● Carry out Quenchers extraction, clean-up (DSPE/PSA/C18/GCB), and evaporation steps.
● Handle extracts for multi-residue pesticides, antibiotics, mycotoxins, PAHs, and other contaminants.
● Maintain sample integrity, avoid cross-contamination, and follow strict SOPs.
3. Calibration & Quantification
● Prepare calibration standards (solvent and matrix-matched).
● Generate calibration curves (r² ≥ 0.99) using appropriate regression models.
● Validate ion ratios and MRM transition criteria as per SANTE/FSSAI guidelines.
● Perform quantification using internal standards and QC acceptance limits.
4. Quality & Documentation (NABL)
● Maintain analytical records, raw data, chromatograms, and instrument logs.
● Follow ISO/IEC 17025 documentation and participate in audits.
● Run blanks, spikes, duplicates, and QC samples per batch.
● Ensure traceability of standards, reagents, and consumables.
5. Method Development & Validation (Assisted Role)
● Assist in optimization of extraction conditions and MS/MS parameters.
● Maintain method SOPs and work instructions.
6. Lab Operations & Support
● Ensure instrument uptime, preventive maintenance, and coordination with service teams.
● Follow safety and chemical handling protocols (HSE compliance).
● Help manage inventory: columns, vials, gases, solvents, Quenchers kits, standards.
Required Qualifications Education
● / in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry
Experience
● 1–2 years’ experience in a food testing lab / contract testing lab
● Experience in pesticide residue analysis preferred
● Hands-on exposure to at least one instrument–MS/MS (Agilent/Sciex/Thermo/Shimadzu), LC–MS/MS (Agilent/Sciex/Thermo/Shimadzu/Waters)
Required Technical Skills
● Knowledge of Quenchers, SPE, and dilution techniques
● Understanding of MRM, ion ratios, dwell time, collision energies
● Experience with chromatography troubleshooting
● Awareness of ISO 17025, FSSAI, APEDA, SANTE guidelines
● Familiarity with software such as Mass Hunter, MultiQuant, Analyst, LabSolutions, Trace Finder, etc.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
