The Research Intern will provide essential support to the Research Associate and the Research Wing, contributing directly to the movement's goal of generating authentic, data-backed insights into Punjab's identity, challenges, and opportunities. This role offers practical experience in bridging academic research with grassroots realities and helping to design Punjab-specific models for sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Research and Data Support
Conduct secondary research, literature reviews, and trend analysis on Punjab's socioeconomic and cultural landscape across the 17 focus areas (e.g., agriculture, youth,
governance).
Assist in organizing, cleaning, and coding quantitative and qualitative data gathered through
surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.
Help analyze historical and current trends to inform the Gall Punjab Di strategy.
2. Documentation and Knowledge Development
Assist in drafting research briefs, concept notes, and sections of thematic reports.
Support the development of indicators used to measure the progress and impact of
community dialogue circles and local projects.
Help document local stories, best practices, and emerging issues from field volunteers.
3. Collaboration and Outreach
Participate in research meetings, dialogue sessions, and community events to bridge
academic work with grassroots voices.
Assist in preparing presentation materials (charts, summaries) that translate complex data
into clear, evidence-based insights.
Work with the Core Team to support partnerships with universities and think tanks for data
validation.
Preferred Background and Skills
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in , Sociology,
Political Science, Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field. (not mandatory)
Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in research, data analysis, or field
documentation.
Basic familiarity with data management tools (e.g., MS Excel, Google Sheets).
Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English and Punjabi (mandatory).
Self-motivated, highly organized, and committed to working in a constructive, solution oriented environment.
Knowledge of Punjabi Language is a must
