The R&D Manager leads innovation efforts within the organization by overseeing research initiatives, driving new product development, and improving existing technologies. This role requires strategic planning, team leadership, and strong collaboration with cross-functional departments to align R&D activities with business goals and market needs.


🛠 Key Responsibilities


1. Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement R&D strategies aligned with company vision.
  • Identify emerging technology trends and plan future development projects.

2. Team Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and manage scientists/engineers in the R&D team.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.

3. Project Oversight

  • Manage the full lifecycle of R&D projects—from concept to commercialization.
  • Ensure milestones, timelines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Production, and Quality Assurance teams.
  • Support seamless commercialization and product launch processes.

5. Market & Technology Analysis

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and new technological advancements.
  • Recommend improvements or new product opportunities based on insights.

6. Budget & Resource Management

  • Prepare and manage R&D budgets effectively.
  • Allocate resources efficiently and maintain cost control.

7. Compliance & IP Management

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and quality norms.
  • Oversee protection of intellectual property and manage patents as needed.

🎓 Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, etc.).
  • Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in R&D, product development, or similar technical fields.
  • Experience within regulated industries is highly desirable.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and people-management abilities.

  • Project management expertise.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
