We are currently seeking a highly experienced and versatile Senior Remote Sensing Expert with a strong agricultural background to lead our remote sensing efforts within our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Utilize satellite imagery and advanced AI/ML algorithms for crop mapping, area estimation, crop loss assessment, drought monitoring, flood zone detection, and crop yield estimation, with resolutions ranging from 1 to 30 meters.

2. Generate maps illustrating the spatial distribution of various agricultural crops and associated features.

3. Conduct data munging and cleaning procedures to refine and prepare datasets for analysis and mapping.

4. Curate and manage a digital repository of geographic maps encompassing diverse file formats.

5. Execute SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) data processing and grasp its applications within the agricultural domain.

6. Perform statistical analysis processes to enhance data interpretation and accuracy assessment.

Required Skills & Experience

∙ Extensive experience of 10 to 15 years in remote sensing applications within the agricultural sector.

∙ Proficiency in software tools such as Arc GIS SNAP, Google Earth Pro, Google Earth Engine, R Studio, Python, and QGIS.

∙ Comprehensive understanding of vegetation indices in remote sensing, including NDVI, NDRE, LSWI, and GNDVI.

∙ Familiarity with SAR data processing methodologies and its relevance in agricultural applications.

∙ Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret remote sensing data effectively.

∙ Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Educational Qualifications

∙ A bachelor's or master's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Geography, or a related field.

∙ Post-graduate diploma or degree focused on Remote Sensing & GIS applications in agriculture.

∙ PhD in Agriculture remote sensing or relevant subject is preferred.
