Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with globally distributed, multi-disciplinary teams across Design, Marketing, Technology, and Architecture.
  • Build, support, and enhance style guides and UI component libraries used by globally distributed product development teams.
  • Develop prototypes/POCs in Figma for rapid ideation, functional/non-functional validation, and user testing feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with Prudential’s engineering and design standards, W3C WCAG accessibility guidelines, and advocate for relevant emerging trends.
  • Contribute to resource planning, workflow improvements (automated and manual), and documentation to support the Design System practice.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, UX Design, Interaction Design, Animation, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of frontend development experience (Web/Native/PWA).
  • Experience building large-scale production libraries and/or applications using major frontend frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, Svelte). Experience with Lit is preferred.
  • Strong coding experience with Web technologies: TypeScript, CSS/SASS/LESS, ESM, Vitest/Jest test suites, mocking/stubbing, and module bundlers like Vite/Webpack.
  • Deep understanding of mobile-first responsive/adaptive design, software design patterns, library design, REST, and documentation generators.
  • Experience working with design prototyping tools such as Figma.
  • Hands-on experience with Storybook.js to support UI libraries.
  • Experience defining and measuring performance budgets to ensure best-in-class user experience.
  • Strong experience with SCM tools (GitHub, Bitbucket), conducting code reviews, and working in Agile/Kanban environments using Jira.
  • Familiarity with containers (Docker) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, CloudBees).
  • Strong team-oriented mindset.
