Radiology Coordinator – Job DescriptionPosition Summary

The Radiology Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily administrative operations of the radiology department. This role ensures smooth patient flow, accurate scheduling, proper documentation, timely reporting, and effective communication between radiologists, technologists, physicians, and patients.

Key Responsibilities1. Patient Coordination

  • Schedule and confirm radiology appointments (X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.).
  • Verify patient information, insurance details, and required pre-procedure preparations.
  • Guide patients through registration and provide instructions for imaging procedures.
  • Manage patient wait times and ensure timely rooming for scans.

2. Administrative & Operational Support

  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and logs of all imaging procedures.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly department schedules.
  • Coordinate with radiology technicians and radiologists to ensure availability of equipment and staff.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.

3. Communication & Collaboration

  • Serve as the central contact point for referring physicians and clinical staff.
  • Communicate results availability, urgent findings, and scheduling updates to appropriate teams.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries regarding radiology services.

4. Quality & Safety

  • Ensure all patient documentation, consent forms, and imaging orders are complete and accurate.
  • Follow HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department.

5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain tracking logs for STAT cases, follow-ups, and pending results.
  • Assist radiologists with dictation workflows and report distribution.
  • Generate daily productivity reports and assist in data entry for departmental metrics.

QualificationsEducation

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Associate degree or certification in healthcare administration, medical assisting, or radiology (preferred)

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in a medical office or radiology setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and imaging procedures
  • Experience with EMR/RIS/PACS systems (preferred)

Skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with computers and scheduling software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Working Conditions

  • Hospital, outpatient imaging center, or clinical environment

  • May require flexible hours or occasional weekend shifts

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹38,994.67 - ₹180,149.50 per month
