Job Description

Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory: Valid RSO certificate (BARC Level II).


·        Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in the relevant industry.

·        A diploma or degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Instrumentation, Automobile, E&TC, Mechatronics).

·        Experience of conducting at least 2 AERB audits.

·        Experience in operating Industrial Computed Tomography (CT) and handling

·        Volume Graphics software.

·        Radiography Testing Level II certification from BARC.

·        Knowledge of AERB and BARC regulatory guidelines, safety protocols, and operational procedures.

·        Experience in maintaining records like Radiation Levels, Logbooks, TLD Records, Calibration of Safety Instruments, and Radiation Survey Reports.


Knowledge & Competencies

·        Expertise in radiation safety, monitoring, and compliance with AERB regulations.

·        Proficient in managing and conducting safety audits and inspections.

·        Strong knowledge of safety and emergency plans related to radiation operations.

·        Understanding of radiation exposure limits, biological effects, and radiation hazards.

·        Familiarity with Radiography devices, machine calibration, and their maintenance.

·        Proficient in using software tools such as Polyworks, VG Studio, and machine hardware.

·        Soft Skills

·        Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English.

·        Ability to manage and coordinate with different departments (suppliers, quality, and production).

·        Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·        Leadership and team collaboration skills.

·        Time management and organizational skills.

·        Manage the complete eLORA process for the institution, from registration to obtaining permission to operate radiography devices, including license renewals.

·        Monitor radiation levels, maintain logbooks, and keep up-to-date records of dose reports, radiation survey reports, and TLD data.

·        Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of radiography equipment and safety instruments.

·        Implement security plans for radiation sources and devices, including storage and operational safety during radiography.

·        Coordinate emergency response plans and handle incident reporting, investigations, and documentation in case of exposure or incidents.

·        Provide training for new staff on radiation safety and operational procedures.

Ensure compliance with AERB regulations, manage audits, and maintain required documentation for safety audits.

  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, quality departments, and the production line to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
