Quality Inspector (AS 9100, ISO 9001, ASQ)

Scope of the role:

QA/QC Leader oversees customer complaints, concerns, returns, and quality-related 8D (8 Disciplines) reports in AS 9100 environment. Additionally, it entails collaborating with plant supervisors and operators to address quality issues. The position includes the enforcement of quality policies and procedures while managing associated documentation. Furthermore, it encompasses the development and execution of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives at the plant level, along with the monitoring and assurance of compliance with all relevant federal, local, and regional regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibility and Activities:

• Lead the implementation and management of quality systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
• Verify the utilization of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other process controls to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
• Manage customer returns and coordinate 8D corrective actions to address complaints and concerns promptly.
• Oversee documentation associated with AS 9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards and maintain master lists, documents, and forms.
• Interface with the quality inspection department to facilitate the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) preparation and documentation for submission.
• Work diligently to resolve customer complaints and returns, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Review, track, and appropriately disposition all internal non-conforming material and products.
• Ensure the development and execution of training programs for employees regarding quality system policies and procedures.
• Serve as the IATF 16949 Management Representative and AS9100 Management Representative for Connecticut.
• Develop and maintain all customer-specific requirements, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Process FMEA (PFMEA), and flow charts.
• Manage Quality and EHS CAPEX projects for the division.
• Ensure the organization's compliance with relevant quality and safety regulations.

Education and Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Quality Management (Aerospace Industry is an advantage).
• Preferred experience in the precision machined metals industry.
• Desirable ASQ certifications (CQM, CQE, or CQA).
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface and communicate with customers and plant supervisors to resolve issues.
• Strong technical writing skills.  Proficiency in project management with a demonstrated ability to effectively organize and manage projects.
• In-depth knowledge of quality standards, including QS/ISO/IATF/SPC.
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
• Previous experience in a leadership role as an IATF site lead.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
• Proficiency in AS 9100 is required
