Quality Engineer

• Quality Planning & Control:Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans and control systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Product & Process Monitoring:Monitor production processes, conduct quality checks at various stages (e.g., raw materials, manufacturing, final product), and ensure adherence to specifications.
• Testing & Analysis:Oversee and conduct electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests (e.g., tensile strength, dielectric strength) on wires and cables, analyzing results to identify issues.
• Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions:Lead efforts to identify root causes of nonconformances using structured tools (e.g., 5-Why, Ishikawa diagrams) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Supplier Quality Management:Collaborate with suppliers, conduct audits, manage supplier qualification processes (like PPAP), and resolve quality issues to ensure supplier compliance.
• Auditing:Perform internal and supplier audits against established schedules and procedures to ensure quality systems are effective.
• Documentation & Data Management:Develop and maintain quality metrics, production records, and technical data sheets, using data visualization tools to track quality data.
• Compliance:Ensure products and processes comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC/WHMA-A-620).

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Expertise:Strong understanding of wire and cable manufacturing processes (e.g., extrusion, stranding, crimping) and associated quality control methods.
• Problem-Solving:Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA) and tools for Root Cause Analysis.
• Quality Management Systems:Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and standards like ISO 9001, or industry-specific standards.
• Data Analysis:Ability to analyze quality data, identify trends, and prepare detailed reports for management.
• Collaboration & Communication:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Education:Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, such as Electrical, Mechanical, or Quality Engineering.
