Job Description

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer for WTP is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities, materials, and workmanship meet the required quality standards, technical specifications, and regulatory guidelines. The role involves conducting inspections, maintaining quality documentation, monitoring test results, and coordinating with contractors, consultants, and the client to ensure compliance throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities1. Quality Assurance & Control

  • Implement and monitor the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) for all WTP works.
  • Conduct routine inspections for civil, mechanical, and electrical activities.
  • Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, IS codes, and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure proper calibration and functioning of all testing and measuring instruments.

2. Material Testing & Approval

  • Oversee testing of materials such as cement, aggregates, steel, concrete, DI pipes, valves, pumps, etc.
  • Coordinate with third-party labs for testing and obtain reports.
  • Maintain records of test results and ensure only approved materials are used on site.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
  • Maintain records such as MIR (Material Inspection Reports), WIR (Work Inspection Reports), and NCR (Non-Conformance Reports).
  • Ensure proper documentation for all QA/QC procedures as per project requirements.

4. Site Monitoring & Compliance

  • Monitor construction activities such as foundations, tanks, pipe laying, equipment installation, and structural works.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
  • Identify quality issues and initiate corrective and preventive actions.

5. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Design Team, Consultants, and Client representatives.
  • Attend site meetings and provide inputs on quality-related matters.
  • Guide site supervisors and contractors regarding quality procedures.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of WTP processes (clarifier, aeration tank, filtration, chemical house, pump house, etc.).
  • Excellent understanding of IS codes, BIS standards, and QA/QC practices.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in report writing, documentation, and MS Office.
  • Ability to lead and mentor QA/QC technicians and lab staff.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/B.Tech in Civil Engineering (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of experience in QA/QC for Water Treatment Plants or similar water infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with lab testing, NDT methods, and quality control procedures.Job Summary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
