We’re Hiring: Python Backend Developer Client: IBM End Client: Shell Location: [Bengaluru] Experience: 5–8 Years (5+ Years Relevant in Python Backend Development) Employment Type: Full-time About the Role: We are looking for a Python Backend Developer to join our high-performance engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying backend systems and cloud-native applications, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. If you are passionate about Python development, cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation, this is the role for you. Key Responsibilities: ✔️ Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and associated frameworks. ✔️ Architect and deploy containerized microservices using Kubernetes (K8s) and/or Functions-as-a-Service. ✔️ Build and consume RESTful APIs to integrate with other systems and services. ✔️ Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure Pipelines, CircleCI, Jenkins X for continuous delivery and deployment. ✔️ Work extensively with cloud services on AWS or Azure , utilizing native APIs and services for deployment and scaling. ✔️ Develop unit tests, integration tests , and follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices. ✔️ Build and optimize ETL pipelines , ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading. ✔️ Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize databases — both RDBMS (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) . ✔️ Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and sprint planning. ✔️ Ensure production systems are monitored, maintained, and issues resolved swiftly (on-call responsibility expected). ✔️ Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and process improvements. Required Skills & Qualifications: ✔️ 5–8 years of total experience , with at least 5 years in backend development using Python . ✔️ Strong knowledge of backend frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI). ✔️ Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) or cloud Functions. ✔️ Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Azure Pipelines, CircleCI, Jenkins X. ✔️ Solid experience in AWS or Azure Cloud environments ; ability to work with APIs and services. ✔️ Practical knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing unit/integration tests. ✔️ Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipeline development. ✔️ Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and integration best practices. ✔️ Experience with both RDBMS (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, including performance tuning and troubleshooting. ✔️ Good proficiency in JavaScript for handling integration tasks or building minor frontend utilities (if required). ✔️ Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. ✔️ Excellent communication skills; ability to work in Agile/Lean startup teams. ✔️ Proactive attitude towards production system ownership and issue resolution.
