Job Description

Role Overview: As a member of the purchasing team at John Crane, your role will involve adhering to daily Standard Work procedures. You will be responsible for effective supplier management, data management, and various duties & responsibilities related to purchasing activities. Key Responsibilities: - Liaise with internal and external suppliers to expedite delivery as needed to meet business requirements - Act as the main point of contact between suppliers and internal stakeholders when necessary - Track and manage supplier delivery performance to ensure they meet John Crane's targets and requirements - Ensure consistent, accurate, and regular updates of new pricing and supplier data in the ERP system - Serve as a recognized system expert for SAP P2P - Manage PR to PO Turnaround, Purchase order aging, MRP exception message status, Purchase order acknowledgments, and PPV Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in a purchasing department - Understanding of MRP driven procurement, ideally with SAP - Proficiency in reading and understanding technical drawings - Analytical skills, including good knowledge of Microsoft programs, Power BI data extraction and analysis, Excel v-lookup, and pivot tables - Process-driven approach with systems thinking - Problem-solving skills with the ability to make process improvements in a structured manner using data - Excellent communication and relationship management skills - Ability to project a positive and professional image on behalf of the organization, promoting ethical procurement Additional Details: John Crane, as a part of Smiths Group, is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and diversity among its global workforce.
