Your key responsibilities will include: - Supplier Identification and Evaluation: - Identify potential suppliers based on technical requirements, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness. - Conduct thorough assessments of supplier capabilities, including manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and financial stability. - Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions. - Vendor Development and Improvement: - Collaborate with suppliers to identify areas for improvement in their processes, quality, and delivery performance. - Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers to enhance their capabilities and meet the company's requirements. - Implement supplier development programs, including training, workshops, and knowledge sharing initiatives. - Cost Reduction and Optimization: - Analyze the cost structure of products and identify opportunities for cost reduction through value engineering, process optimization, and material sourcing. - Implement cost-saving initiatives throughout the supply chain, such as reducing lead times, improving inventory management, and optimizing logistics. - Supplier Relationship Management: - Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration. - Manage supplier performance, track key metrics, and address any performance issues proactively. - Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to suppliers. - Cross-functional Collaboration: - Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality, to ensure alignment and effective communication. - Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities throughout the product lifecycle. Qualifications Required: - Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes. - Excellent negotiation and communication skills. - Knowledge of supplier management, vendor development, and cost reduction. - Ability to analyze data and identify areas for improvement. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software. - Knowledge of relevant quality standards and regulations. - Proficiency in CAD, knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques (cutting, bending), and an understanding of industry standards and compliance.
