Purchasing Assistant

Role Overview: You will be joining VALGOGroup, an important India industrial company operating in the global steel market, as a Purchasing Assistant. Your main responsibility will be to lead and execute the full procurement process from ideation to production. This involves negotiating with vendors and maintaining relationships for items such as Steel, Bearings, Motors, and more. Key Responsibilities: - Scheduling the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and maintain minimum safety stock levels - Monitoring Plan vs. Actual and MIS Reporting - Managing day-to-day order management and deliveries - Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time materials delivery to the production line - Managing risks effectively to minimize impact on production schedule - Ensuring timely receipt of materials like hardware, fabrication, casting, hoses, machining parts, proprietary parts, etc. - Taking follow-up actions on material shortages affecting production - Implementing processes to agreed standards and targets, supporting continuous improvement initiatives - Utilizing Material Requirements Planning system for accurate and up-to-date data - Monitoring Bill of Materials integrity and ensuring inventory accuracy - Minimizing obsolete stock and liabilities - Generating and communicating supplier material delivery schedules and forecasts - Developing and maintaining good supplier relationships, ensuring timely deliveries - Resolving supplier concerns and evaluating performance with the purchasing team Qualification Required: - Good communication skills to maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders - Basic knowledge of materials, gearbox, motor, and bearings in the manufacturing industry - Proficiency in the English language Please note that the job location is VALGO Office in Ahmedabad.
