Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Purchase Assistant located in Sriperumbudur. The Purchase Assistant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day purchasing activities, including sourcing suppliers, preparing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining purchase records. The role involves close coordination with the production, quality, and stores departments to ensure timely availability of materials and smooth supply chain operations.


Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Assistant who can support the procurement process efficiently. The ideal candidate will assist in vendor management, purchase planning, and documentation while ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely material procurement.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing materials, suppliers, and vendors based on production requirements.
  • Prepare purchase requirements based on forecast requirement and stock comparison.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in coordination with internal teams.
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
  • Maintain accurate purchase and supplier records.
  • Compare quotations and make price negotiations with vendors.
  • Coordinate with the stores and accounts teams for material receipts and invoice processing.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and documentation standards.
  • Maintain good relationship with vendors and suppliers in case of delayed payment issues.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Commerce, Supply Chain, or similar experience.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Attention to detail, time management, and ability to multitask.
  • Professional or native level in Tamil.


Preferences

  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
