JOB TITLE: PURCHASE ENGINEER/DY MANAGER

LOCATION: WALCHANDNAGAR(Near Baramati,Maharashtra)

DEPARTMENT: CENTRAL PURCHASE

JOB SUMMARY:

The purchase engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment and services necessary for the operations of the company. The role ensures cost-effective and timely acquisition of goods while maintaining quality standard and compliance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Procurement Process
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers/vendors.
• Obtain quotations and prepare comparative statements.
• Negotiate prices, delivery terms and other commercial terms.
• Raise purchase order and track delivery schedules.
• Vendor Management
• Maintain and update approved vendor lists.
• Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery, and services.
• Develop alternative sources for critical items.
• Technical Coordination
• Understand technical requirements from engineering/production team
• Co-ordinate with internal departments for specifications and approvals.
• Interpret technical drawings and material specifications
• Cost Control & Budgeting
• Ensure procurement within budgetary limits.
• Explore cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Documentation & Compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing and inventory
• Ensure procurement practices comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Qualifications
• BE (Mechanical/Production)
• Additional qualification in Supply Chain Management
• Experience:
• 6-10 years of experience in engineering of manufacturing industry in the field heavy fabrication.
• Hand on experience in SAP system, IMS standards.
• Skills required:
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
• Technical understanding of engineering products/materials & fabrication processes.
• Awareness of welding techniques including robotic welding.
• Awareness of ASME codes related to fabrication
• Attention to details and analytical skills
• Familiarity with ISO/AS/Quality Standards
