Job Description

Job Purpose

To manage end-to-end procurement of mechanical and electrical materials, components, equipment, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and timely delivery to support smooth operations, projects, and maintenance activities.

Qualification & Experience

  • Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Graduate with relevant technical knowledge.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in procurement of mechanical and electrical items (SPM Manufacturing, Engineering industry preferred).

Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Sourcing

  • Identify, evaluate, and finalize reliable suppliers for both mechanical and electrical items.
  • Source materials such as:
  • Mechanical: bearings, fasteners, tools, machines, spares, hydraulic & pneumatic components.
  • Electrical: PLC, cables, motors, panels, drives, MCBs, MCCBs, transformers, lighting, and control gear.
  • Float inquiries, collect quotations, and prepare comparative statements.

2. Negotiation & Order Finalization

  • Negotiate prices, credit terms, delivery schedules, and warranties with vendors.
  • Ensure best cost, quality, and service standards in all procurement deals.
  • Issue purchase orders and ensure adherence to company policies.

3. Vendor Development & Management

  • Develop new vendors for cost savings and supply stability.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Conduct vendor performance evaluations (quality, delivery, pricing, service).

4. Coordination & Inventory Management

  • Coordinate with production, projects, maintenance, and stores teams to identify requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels and avoid shortages/delays.
  • Ensure materials are delivered on time to avoid downtime in production or project execution.

5. Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure purchases comply with company procurement procedures and audit requirements.
  • Maintain proper purchase records, documentation, and reports.
  • Provide regular MIS reports on procurement costs, savings, and supplier performance.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical materials.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
  • Analytical skills for cost comparison and decision-making.
  • Familiarity with ERP/SAP systems and MS Office.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹37,000.00 per month
