Job Description

Role Overview:

The SCM personnel is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire supply chain process of the organization, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products. This role involves coordinating and optimizing all logistical aspects from procurement of raw materials to the final delivery of finished products.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

1. Procurement & Purchasing

  • Source, negotiate, and purchase goods, materials, and services as per operational requirements.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of raw materials, consumables, and other supplies according to production schedules.
  • Collaborate with inventory control teams to determine and manage material requirements.

2. Supplier Coordination

  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delivery-related issues.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers to ensure smooth operations across the supply chain.

3. Supplier Management

  • Maintain a comprehensive supplier database, including purchase history and performance records.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations for compliance with technical specifications and cost targets.

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and process purchase orders in compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and traceability.

5. Cost Optimization

  • Support cost reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities for savings in materials and services procurement.

6. Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate purchase and inventory reports using advanced Excel functions (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Monitor and report key performance metrics such as supplier performance, delivery accuracy, and cost variance.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with production, planning, and quality assurance teams to meet operational requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize purchasing processes and supplier relationships.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Procurement Knowledge:

    Experience in purchasing, supplier coordination, and supply chain operations.
  • Excel Proficiency:

    Strong command of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis.
  • Communication & Follow-ups:

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for supplier interaction and internal coordination.
  • Organization & Time Management:

    Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Negotiation Skills:

    Strong negotiation ability to achieve cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
