Job Description

The Role

You will lead our data engineering, data analysis, and data science efforts. Working closely with engineering stakeholders, you will transform device- and system-generated data into actionable insights and scalable self-service tools. Your work will directly influence hardware design, firmware behavior, control algorithms, product quality, and safety outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (hardware, firmware, software, controls) to define problem statements, scope analyses, and translate findings into design or product improvement actions.
  • Conduct robust, repeatable exploratory analyses using open-source tools (Jupyter, Pandas, etc), clearly summarizing findings, assumptions and recommendations.
  • Build data pipelines and workflows to move from ad-hoc analysis to production-ready dashboards and self-service tools for engineering teams.
  • Develop and maintain metrics, applications, and tools (dashboards, time-series systems, alerts) that enable engineers to access, interpret and act on data independently.
  • Write clean, maintainable, thoroughly-tested code; build systems for scalability, reliability and long-term growth.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and frameworks in data engineering & science, propose and help adopt them across the organisation.

What You'll Bring

  • 5 + years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics or data science roles.
  • Bachelors or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in: Python, SQL, time-series databases, data visualisation (e.g., seaborn/matplotlib, Dash/Plotly, Tableau), dashboards (Grafana, Prometheus)
  • Experience with tools and platforms such as: Snowflake, Bitbucket/Git, JIRA, TensorFlow / PyTorch / Scikit-Learn
  • Practical experience in supervised & unsupervised machine learning, time-series forecasting/regression, anomaly detection and AI model deployment.
  • Solid grounding in statistics and data-driven problem solving; ability to refine ambiguous problem statements and map them to available data.
  • Excellent communication skills: able to summarise insights, clarify assumptions, explain methodologies and influence engineering outcomes.
  • High curiosity, self-motivation and a hands-on orientation to tackling complex problems.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in automotive, electric vehicle or robotics domains.
  • Working knowledge of GCP or other cloud-platform infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with InfluxDB or other specialised time-series storage systems.
  • Prior experience building self-service data tools for engineering or product teams.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Be part of a mission-driven startup driving sustainable farm automation and EV innovation.
  • Influence hardware, firmware, and software design through rich device data and real-world use-cases.
  • Work cross-functionally with diverse engineering teams and transform how people use data on the farm.
  • Grow your technical leadership and shape the data stack at a pivotal stage of the company.
