Purchase Assistant

You will be responsible for overseeing procurement activities for construction projects. Your duties will include sourcing quality materials, negotiating with vendors, managing budgets, and ensuring timely delivery for all operational needs. In terms of construction procurement, you will be required to source and purchase materials such as cement, steel, fittings, electrical components, and plumbing supplies. You will need to evaluate vendor capabilities, compare quotations, and negotiate prices and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness. Additionally, you will coordinate with site engineers and project managers to understand material requirements, track deliveries, ensure quality standards, and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages. Maintaining purchase records, contracts, and approvals in coordination with the Finance department will be part of your general responsibilities. You will also need to conduct market research to develop cost-effective sourcing strategies, ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations, and work closely with other teams such as Accounts, Admin, and Operations for smooth functioning. Implementing cost-saving strategies while upholding quality standards will be a key focus area. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Civil Engineering, or a related field and have a minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience in the construction industry. Strong negotiation, vendor management, and organizational skills are essential, along with proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, ERP systems, and documentation. Key competencies required for this position include attention to detail, strong communication and coordination abilities, budget management skills, multitasking and time management capabilities, as well as integrity and accountability. This position is full-time and involves day and morning shifts in the Construction/Engineering industry, located in Pitampura, Delhi. Benefits include leave encashment and paid sick time.
