Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the protective filming and packing processes to ensure products are delivered damage-free and meet quality standards. Responsible for developing and optimizing protective film application and packing methods for delicate or high-precision components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Planning & Execution:
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for protective film application and packing.
  • Ensure correct selection and usage of protective films based on surface type (mirror finish, coated surfaces, etc.).
  • Implement best practices for wrapping, cushioning, and boxing to prevent transit damage.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure no surface damage (scratches, dents, or stains) during film application or packing.
  • Perform in-process and post-process inspections.
  • Lead investigations for any damage claims and implement corrective actions.
  • Material Management:
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of protective films, packing foams, bubble wraps, tapes, and boxes.
  • Evaluate and suggest cost-effective packing solutions without compromising protection quality.
  • Team Management:
  • Supervise operators and contract labour involved in protective filming and packing.
  • Train staff on handling fragile/critical parts and maintaining cleanliness during the process.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and improve protective film techniques to reduce time and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with R&D or design to improve product-packaging compatibility.
  • Implement lean manufacturing practices in packing areas.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
  • Maintain documentation of all packing standards and inspection records.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD, RoHS, export regulations, and customer-specific packing standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in protective film application, cleanroom packing, or precision parts packaging.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with cleanroom practices (if applicable).
  • Knowledge of surface-sensitive material handling.
  • Basic CAD or drawing interpretation skills.
  • Soft Skills:

  • Problem-solving and decision-making
  • Good communication and coordination skills

Preferred Industry:

Precision manufacturing, semiconductor, medical devices, electronics, automotive components, or similar fields involving delicate product handling.
