Job Description

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

  • Design and development of test bench for testing of liquid propulsion systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design test bench i.e., carry out detailed performance calculations, systems modelling, system design and analysis.
  • Develop tools for detailed cost estimates for the facilities.
  • Overseeing of end-to-end development, maintenance and upgrade of test bench.
  • Plan and conduct test campaigns along with propulsion system development engineers.
  • Ensure safe operation by establishing detailed test procedures.
  • System engineering, test data analysis and documentation.
  • Work with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Experience in Liquid stage (Earth storable & Cryo propellent) modelling complex parts and assemblies and preparation of manufacturing drawings as per the sequence
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with various Aerospace materials, assembly joints (Fasteners, Rivets etc) tools and integration methods.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret Engineering and Manufacturing drawings from part level to assembly and integration level.
  • Strong Knowledge in various end fittings, Pipe routing (rigid & flexible) including pipe bending (Rigid) techniques, types of welding techniques, Sealings and their qualification and acceptance (proof pressure testing with hydraulic and Pneumatic medium).
  • Closely collaborate with the design, manufacturing and Quality teams for further clearance.
  • Experience in propellent handling and transportation for testing.
  • Knowledge of Plumbing and instrumentation (P& ID) Drawings.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Technical Skills (In order of Priority)
  • Knowledge of structural design and analysis, cryogenics systems design, high pressure gas systems design and manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD modelling, drawings and machine design with experience in design analysis. Experience with SolidWorks, Auto Cad & Creo.
  • Willingness to take on non-traditional tasks, roles, responsibilities and challenges needed to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • In depth understanding of GD&T.

QUALIFICATION:

Essential:
  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering or other technical.
  • 2-3 years of experience preferably from liquid propulsion systems and rocketry.

Preferrable:

  • Aerospace and defence experience.
