Project Lead - Financial & Digital Inclusion

Role & responsibilities

Participate in the formulation, implementation, monitoring and results-based reporting of financial inclusion and Digital Inclusion projects under Women Empowerment, through the achievement of the following results:

• Support the formulation of new projects and the implementation of ongoing projects against annual work, targets, time plans and result indicators.
• Coordinate with the M&E team to develop internal monitoring and operational plans that help with project implementation.
• Monitor field-based implementation of project activities, including guiding partners on field implementation and monitoring.
• Monitor partners, including consultants, and grantees implementation of project activities, to ensure their implementation is in accordance with agreements, work plans, deliverables, and timelines.
• Ensure timely and quality progress and financial reporting by partners in line with agreed templates and schedules, review quarterly implementation progress reports and provide feedback to the partners.
• Promote gender equality and inclusion of marginalized populations internally and externally.

Support strategic positioning and development of the financial and Digital inclusion projects under WE by focusing on the achievement of the following results:

• Support coordination and collaboration efforts with thematic areas and relevant partners to understand ongoing initiatives and identify potential role and contribution towards those initiatives.
• Support the development of initiatives and partnerships that facilitate knowledge management on financial inclusion and digital projects in support of poverty alleviation and their linkages with social cohesion.
• Draft briefing and meeting notes on project implementation in support of meeting with relevant project stakeholders, internal and external.

Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing for project and partner teams through the following results:

• Support the conduct of partners capacity skill audits and the organization and delivery of trainings, information-sharing and knowledge-sharing events for project and partner teams.
• Identification and synthesis of best practices and lessons learnt directly linked to the projects goals.
• Support the development of practices and institutions that will address the country's problems and needs in collaboration with the Government and other strategic partners.
• Sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice through case studies.
• Perform any other tasks as required by the Programme Lead/Head.

Preferred candidate profile

• Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Economics, Business Management, International Development, Political Science, Public Administration, or related field is required
• Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in financial inclusion, financial access and financial literacy is required
• Experience in financial inclusion project formulation, including knowledge of financial instruments, tools and policies, Innovation Financing for Development, Microfinance, SDG finance
• Proven experience in implementation, monitoring and results-based reporting
• Relevant Experience in strategic planning processes, programming coordination and partnerships
