Sangeet Vidya Niketan (SVN) is a cultural institution dedicated to the preservation, practice, and presentation of Indian classical music and performing arts. Through concerts, festivals, curated performances, and pedagogical initiatives, SVN works closely with eminent artists as well as emerging practitioners to create platforms for rigorous artistic expression and cultural dialogue.
Rooted in tradition while remaining responsive to contemporary contexts, SVN plays a critical role in nurturing artistic excellence, enabling meaningful audience engagement, and sustaining India’s performing arts ecosystem. The organisation is known for its thoughtfully curated programs, high artistic standards, and a founder-led vision that places integrity, depth, and cultural stewardship at the centre of its work. SVN’s programs engage prominent artists, cultural leaders, and discerning public audiences across Delhi and beyond.
This is an early-to-mid career, hands-on role offering intensive on-ground exposure to cultural production and institutional operations. The Associate will be deeply involved in the execution of live events and programs, working behind the scenes to ensure smooth, professional delivery under the guidance of the Founder and senior collaborators.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, values seriousness and discipline in the arts, and is keen to build a strong foundation in arts administration and cultural leadership.
• Provide direct programmatic and operational support to the Founder across performances, festivals, and cultural initiatives
• Coordinate end-to-end event logistics under guidance, including venues, schedules, artists, vendors, and on-ground execution
• Act as a liaison between artists, venues, vendors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and professional conduct
• Support documentation, scheduling, and planning processes related to programs and productions
• Assist with on-ground coordination during rehearsals, performances, and festivals, including real-time problem-solving
• Ensure smooth artist and audience experience during public-facing events
• Support fundraising or donor-related activities, as required (desirable but not mandatory)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi
• Comfort with MS Word, Excel, email communication, and documentation
• Ability to take quick, thoughtful decisions in live or time-sensitive situations
• Highly organised, proactive, and reliable, with strong follow-through
• Ability to interact professionally with senior artists, patrons, and institutional partners
• Working knowledge of social media platforms is an advantage
• Genuine interest in Indian performing arts, culture, and creative ecosystems
• Emotionally grounded, calm, and steady under pressure
• Comfortable working closely with a strong artistic founder and within clear hierarchies
• Collaborative, grounded, and not ego-driven
• Dependable, adaptable, and solution-oriented
• Willingness to do unglamorous but essential work during live events
• Academic background in Humanities, Arts, Arts Management, Psychology, or related fields
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in NGO programs, arts management, or performing arts organisations
• Prior experience assisting or independently coordinating multiple live events or programs
