Woxsen University invites applications for a distinguished faculty position to lead our ambitious expansion in public policy education and research. This position offers the extraordinary opportunity to build a world-class public policy program while conducting influential research on governance, policy innovation, and democratic institutions in one of the world's largest democracies and fastest-growing economies. POSITION SUMMARY We seek a preeminent scholar-practitioner to establish and direct our Institute for Policy Innovation & Democratic Governance. The successful candidate will conduct transformative research on contemporary policy challenges while building bridges between academic research, policy practice, and democratic institutions. This role requires a visionary leader who can advance both theoretical understanding and practical solutions to complex governance challenges in the 21st century. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Research Leadership: Lead innovative research on public policy, governance institutions, political economy, or comparative politics with relevance to emerging democracies Establish a policy research center focusing on areas such as digital governance, sustainable development policy, institutional design, or policy innovation Secure major research grants from national and international funding agencies (target: $1.5M+ annually) Publish influential research in top-tier political science and policy journals (APSR, AJPS, Journal of Public Policy, Governance) Develop strategic partnerships with policy think tanks, government institutions, and international organizations Academic Excellence: Design cutting-edge curricula in public policy analysis, political institutions, policy evaluation, and governance Mentor doctoral students in rigorous policy research methodologies and dissertation development Establish professional Master's programs in public policy and governance for mid-career professionals Create experiential learning opportunities through policy simulation exercises, practicum placements, and policy consulting projects Lead undergraduate programs in political science and public affairs Policy Impact: Serve as expert advisor to government agencies, parliamentary committees, and policy commissions Contribute to policy white papers, legislative analysis, and institutional reform recommendations Engage with civil society organizations, NGOs, and advocacy groups on policy research and evaluation Provide evidence-based policy recommendations on critical national and international challenges Establish policy labs for testing innovative governance solutions and institutional designs Global Engagement: Collaborate with leading policy schools globally (Harvard Kennedy School, Princeton SPIA, Oxford Blavatnik, LSE Government) Participate in international policy dialogues, diplomatic forums, and multilateral institution discussions Organize international conferences on governance, democracy, and policy innovation Contribute to global policy debates through public intellectualism and media engagement REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, or closely related field from a top-tier university Minimum 8 years of post-doctoral experience with demonstrated research excellence Outstanding publication record in leading peer-reviewed journals (minimum 25 high-quality articles) Proven success in securing competitive research funding and managing large research projects Demonstrated expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies Policy experience through government service, consulting, or institutional advisory roles preferred PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Specialization in comparative politics, institutional analysis, policy evaluation, or governance in developing countries Experience with advanced methodologies (experimental design, causal inference, big data analytics, mixed methods) International policy experience with multilateral organizations, development agencies, or diplomatic institutions Fluency in multiple languages and cross-cultural research competency Background in policy areas relevant to India and South Asia (development policy, digital governance, institutional reform) Media experience and public intellectual engagement through op-eds, policy blogs, or public speaking Show more Show less
