Production Manager

As a Production Manager in the Furniture Industry, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the furniture manufacturing operations at our location in Mysore. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating production processes, ensuring efficient resource utilization, maintaining quality standards, and meeting production deadlines while fostering continuous improvement in a dynamic work environment. Your key duties will involve planning, scheduling, and supervising daily production activities to achieve output and quality targets. You will be leading and supervising production teams comprising carpenters, machine operators, upholsterers, and assemblers. Identifying workflow bottlenecks, implementing productivity-enhancing solutions, and liaising with design, procurement, and quality assurance departments for seamless production processes will also be part of your role. Additionally, you will be accountable for ensuring that all furniture is manufactured in compliance with quality specifications and safety regulations. Managing production budgets, labor costs, and material usage efficiently, along with providing training, coaching, and development opportunities for production staff, will be essential for optimizing performance and fostering employee engagement. Moreover, you will maintain production reports, logs, and documentation, enforce health and safety protocols on the shop floor, and drive initiatives in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices. Proficiency in production planning software, MS Office, strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments, and experience with quality control standards like ISO, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing will be beneficial for this role. Preferred attributes for this position include hands-on experience in custom and mass production furniture, as well as familiarity with CAD/CAM software for interpreting design specifications.,
