About the Role

Production Assistant

This role requires someone who is both technically proficient and collaborative, capable of juggling multiple responsibilities across pre-production, production, and post-production phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist faculty and students in executing film and video projects, from planning to final delivery.

• Support on-set activities, including logistics, equipment handling, scheduling, and coordination.

• Should be able to provide technical guidance on camera operations, lighting, and sound setup.

• Help manage and maintain production equipment, ensure availability and functionality.

• Offer

  video editing support

  using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).

• Guide students in basic editing techniques, media management, and storytelling through visuals.

• Troubleshot technical issues during production and post-production.

• Ensure productions follow timelines and maintain quality standards.

• Collaborate with faculty to design practical learning experiences for students

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of filmmaking production workflows.

• Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).

• Hands-on experience with cameras, audio equipment, and lighting.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

• Physically fit to handle the rigours of Film Production and related intensive jobs.

• Self-starter, and the ability to work with little supervision.

• Strong communication and mentoring ability for working with students.

• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

• Flexibility to adapt to varying production needs and schedules.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media, Communication, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 3–5 years of professional experience in film/video production.

• Proven track record in assisting with film shoots and editing projects.

• Prior experience in an academic or training environment is a plus.
