Job Description

Responsible for effective engineering alignment between Product Engineering and Manufacturing / Operations for India product launches having clear vision and goals - establishing a cross functional team and maintaining frequent and transparent communication between engineering, manufacturing and other departments. This will include ECU s, PFI injectors, and other product lines as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the key interface between the engineering design team and the production team, facilitating communication and collaboration.
  • Review proposed manufacturing processes (from third party) and establishing quality control measures.
  • Review product designs, share recommendations and up design as agreed to ensure they are feasible and cost-effective to manufacture.
  • Provide feedback and collaborate on elements of product design: DFMEA, Bill of Design, Bill of Specification, etc.
  • Review the manufacturing documentation, including build manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control plans (ensuring process adherence by third party manufacturer).
  • Propose lean manufacturing ideas, support in implementation and review quality of the outputs.
  • Identify areas in manufacturing process which can be owned by PHINIA. Analysis of make Vs Buy and ensure knowledge is available inhouse to reduce dependency of contract manufacturer (End of Line test line FCT and ICT).
  • Approver for estimation (internal) & validation (internal/external) of the manufacturing costs (for business case / QRB documentation)
  • Understand the business and work with sales and program management to provide volume forecast for manufacturing team
  • Ensure that returns are managed and necessary 8D, RCA are done and communicated to customer
  • Prepare schedule to synchronize the development of product and manufacturing process and track on regular basis.
  • Scope of the role will initially be focused on Electronics and could then expand to Injectors.
