Product Development Engineer

Role Overview: As a Product Development Engineer based in Pune, your main responsibility will be the mechanical design, validation, and documentation of new products. You will collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability using CAD or CAE systems. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop new products using advanced modeling tools - Apply engineering expertise to design mechanical components for rotary equipment - Specify product specifications, design and test components - Create and execute product validation plans - Perform mechanical design calculations for regulatory requirements - Ensure compliance with Design Control and Stage Gate processes - Participate in design reviews, resolve open issues, and interface with Product Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and other functions Qualifications Required: - Experience in mechanical design of rotary equipment and new product development - Proficiency in CAD for 3D modeling and drawing - Ability to perform design and sizing calculations for components like bearings and gears - Knowledge of defining manufacturing processes and material selection for mechanical components - Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, design standards, and regulatory requirements - Understanding of production processes such as machining, casting, and welding - B.E or M.E/ M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering - Minimum 6 years of experience in new product design - Strong interpersonal skills, project handling abilities, and good team player qualities - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Proficiency in software programs like MS Word, MS Excel, and project management tools Additional Details: Physical fitness is required to perform tear-downs of pumps and withstand long hours of standing during assemblies and testing.,
