Product Designer – Eyewear

About the Role

Product Designer specializing exclusively in eyewear and sunglasses

This role requires someone who can blend aesthetics with functionality, create market-ready collections, and collaborate closely with production, marketing, and merchandising teams.


Key Responsibilities

Design & Innovation

  • Design complete eyewear collections (sunglasses & optical frames) that align with brand positioning and market trends.
  • Develop sketches, concept boards, 2D/3D models, and technical drawings.
  • Work hands-on with prototypes, tooling, sample corrections, and final product refinements.


Material, Color & Trend Research

  • Track global eyewear trends, seasonal color palettes, shapes, finishes, and frame technologies.
  • Research materials such as acetate, TR90, metal alloys, and eco-friendly alternatives.


Product Development

  • Collaborate with vendors, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure design accuracy from concept to production.
  • Review pre-production samples and ensure quality standards are met.


Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the marketing and merchandising teams for collection planning.
  • Provide design insights for photoshoots, packaging, and retail displays.


Quality & Brand Consistency

  • Maintain brand identity across all products.
  • Ensure fit, comfort, durability, and design precision for each frame.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–6 years of dedicated experience in eyewear/sunglasses design

    (mandatory).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing

    original eyeglasses and sunglasses designs

    —not generic industrial design work.
  • Proficiency in sketching, CAD tools (Illustrator, Rhino, SolidWorks, KeyShot, etc.).
  • Understanding of materials, hinges & hardware, manufacturing processes, and ergonomic design.
  • Strong sense of fashion, colors, and detailing.
  • Ability to manage multiple collection timelines and deliver under deadlines.

2. Design Round (Technical Interview)

  • Deep dive into eyewear portfolio
  • Discussion on design thinking, materials, trend inspiration

  • Short take-home assignment (e.g., create 3 eyewear concepts with mood board + 1 detailed technical drawing)
  • Evaluation based on creativity, feasibility, and brand alignment


4. Final Interview (HR + Leadership)

  • Discussion on role expectations & culture fit
  • Review of assignment
  • Final salary & offer discussion
