Principal Engineer Wind

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Renewable Energy Engineering


• 12+ years of experience in wind energy project engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role


• Proven track record in delivering large-scale wind projects in global environment. Experience of working on Middle East Projects/Clients will be an added advantage.


• Proficiency in wind modeling tools (e.g., WindPro, WAsP, OpenWind) and grid analysis software will be an added advantage.


• Strong understanding of IEC standards, HSE requirements, and project lifecycle management


• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

BGV:

• Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification ( BGV ) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.


• Candidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process including documents uploaded is accurate and complete, both to WSP India and its BGV partner .

Technical Expertise

• Lead the engineering design and development of onshore wind energy projects
• Provide expert guidance on wind resource assessment, turbine selection, layout optimization, and grid integration
• Review and approve technical deliverables including feasibility studies, design packages, and performance models

Project Execution & Oversight

• Oversee engineering activities during construction and commissioning phases
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, consultants, and contractors

Strategic Input & Innovation

• Contribute to business development by supporting proposals, client presentations, and technical strategy
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, market trends, and regulatory changes in the wind energy sector
• Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a technical point of contact for clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams
• Support permitting processes and liaise with authorities on technical matters
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence
