Job Description

As a Principal Auditor at McDermott, you will be responsible for guiding financial, operational, business process, or compliance audits across the globe. You will effectively interact with various levels of management, fostering relationships that align with organizational goals. Your role as an individual contributor entails reporting to the Senior Manager, Audit without formal supervisory responsibilities over staff auditors. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in the annual risk assessment to identify audit plans for the year - Plan and execute Finance and Operational process audits and project audits, including managing SOX/ICFR controls - Identify opportunities for implementing data analytics in audits and control testing - Assist in determining the objective, scope, and general plan of audits, developing customizable audit programs to enhance internal controls - Interact effectively with various levels of management and prepare formal audit reports for executive review - Document information and findings in compliance with IIA and MDR standards - Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal audit practices - Evaluate management's corrective actions and provide consulting services to stakeholders - Stay updated on industry developments that may impact the audit process - Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (30% to 40%) Qualifications: - Undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance or Engineering from an accredited college or university - For Finance background: CA, ACCA, CPA, or CIA qualification required with 8+ years of post-qualification experience in multinational companies or big 4 firms - For Engineering background: BE degree required with post-graduation in Engineering/Construction Management or PMP as a plus, along with 8+ years of relevant experience - Experience in Oil & Gas EPC or contracting preferred, international exposure advantageous - Strong leadership skills, ability to work independently, and supervise audit engagements - Proficient in report writing, verbal communication, and advanced knowledge of excel - Familiarity with data analytics/visualization tools and audit software like AuditBoard Join McDermott and be part of a dynamic team driving impactful changes in the energy sector. #LI-PM1 As a Principal Auditor at McDermott, you will be responsible for guiding financial, operational, business process, or compliance audits across the globe.
