Job Description

Role Purpose

The Pricing & Access Manager is responsible for developing and implementing pricing strategies that reflect product value while meeting payer expectations and healthcare budget constraints.

The role supports innovative contracting, health economics modeling, and patient affordability solutions. It requires active engagement with stakeholders across government institutions, healthcare providers (HCPs), and private key accounts to generate insights and design innovative funding and financing models.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Market Access strategy and ensure compliance with internal and external pricing regulations.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies, frameworks, and tactics for oncology and related therapeutic areas to maximize business impact.
  • Leverage data and digital interventions to support optimal pricing decisions and governance solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address queries from NPPA and other government bodies.
  • Drive pricing as a strategic lever to maximize product value in collaboration with Finance, Legal, KAM, and Commercial teams.
  • Monitor and apply insights into anticipated pricing and healthcare policy changes.
  • Support development and execution of sustainable market access and brand strategies in alignment with overall patient access objectives.
  • Lead implementation of digital price governance systems and ensure audit compliance.
  • Provide oncology expertise to strengthen market access initiatives and payer engagement strategies.
  • Analyze competitor activities, policy trends, and market access developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

Business Planning & Strategy

  • Contribute to market access strategy design and execution for oncology products in line with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Medical) to ensure effective implementation.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and execute innovative commercial contracts and access agreements with payers and institutions.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with decision-makers in government, healthcare providers, and private sector stakeholders.
  • Align internal teams (marketing, medical, regulatory) to ensure consistent and impactful product positioning.

Compliance & Training

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and company policies in all market access and pricing activities.
  • Train internal teams on product value propositions, positioning, and oncology disease areas for consistent messaging.

Profile Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Education:

    Bachelors degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Engineering. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience:

    35 years in pharmaceutical pricing or market access roles, ideally within oncology. Experience with government payers and institutional stakeholders is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge:

    Strong understanding of oncology ecosystems, healthcare systems, and reimbursement processes in India.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and sustain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Medical, Finance, and Regulatory teams for seamless execution of pricing and access strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to the Market Access Lead on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned, upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.
