Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lead/Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead complex power system studies and provide expert insights on the electrical design and integration of renewable energy projects. This is a fully remote position, ideal for someone who thrives in a flexible and autonomous environment, while still engaging closely with team members and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced power system studies, including RMS and EMT simulations, grid compliance analysis, and dynamic system modelling.
• Guide and mentor junior and mid-level engineers in technical development and project execution.
• Collaborate with developers, AEMO, NSPs, and regulators to ensure compliance and successful grid integration.
• Support commissioning, GPS compliance testing, and produce high-quality technical documentation.
• Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay current with regulatory updates, industry best practices, and software advancements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering (PhD is a plus but not essential).
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) certification preferred.
• Strong background in power systems analysis, protection, and control—especially with inverter-based resources.
• Proficiency in PSS®E, PSCAD/EMTDC, PowerFactory, DSATools, and scripting tools such as Python.
• In-depth knowledge of AEMO’s connection and registration processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
