Job Description

Power BI Developer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy

    Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets

    based on business requirements.
  • Write

    optimized DAX queries and measures

    to deliver accurate and efficient calculations.
  • Leverage

    Power Query (M language)

    for advanced data transformation and shaping.
  • Connect Power BI to multiple data sources (SQL Server, Excel, APIs, cloud platforms, etc.).
  • Implement

    row-level security (RLS)

    , role-based access, and data governance best practices.
  • Optimize performance of Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all BI solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.

  • 4+ years

    of experience as a Power BI Developer or similar BI role.
  • Strong proficiency in

    DAX

    for creating complex calculations and measures.
  • Advanced knowledge of

    Power Query (M language)

    for ETL and data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience in

    data modeling

    , star schema design, and dimensional modeling.
  • Proficiency in

    SQL

    for querying and transforming data.
  • Experience integrating Power BI with cloud services such as

    Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, or AWS Redshift

    .
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with

    Power BI Premium

    and large dataset handling.
  • Familiarity with

    Paginated Reports

    and Power BI Report Builder.
  • Knowledge of

    Python or R

    for advanced analytics in Power BI.
  • Exposure to other BI tools like Tableau or QlikView.
