Post-Closing QC Specialist

Job Summary:

The Post Closing QC Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive audits of funded mortgage loans to ensure documentation accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with investor and internal guidelines. This role requires a deep understanding of closing documentation, data reconciliation, and regulatory requirements for Non-QM loan products such as Fix & Flip, DSCR, Bridge, Construction, and Rental Loans.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Document Review & Validation:

• Perform detailed post-closing audits using standardized checklists.
• Verify presence, accuracy, and execution of key closing documents such as:
• Promissory Note / Allonge / Deed of Trust / Mortgage / Business Loan Agreement / Security Agreement
• Assignment of Rents, Resolution of Borrower, Environmental Indemnity Agreement, Guaranty Agreement, and Riders
• Final Settlement Statement (HUD/ALTA) and Marked-Up Title Policy
• Insurance Policies (Hazard, Liability, and Flood Insurance)
• Ensure signatures, dates, and notary details are complete and compliant.

2. Data QC & Cross Verification:

• Reconcile key data points across documents and systems (CRM, LOS, and Title reports), including:
• Loan Amount, Interest Rate, Maturity Date, First Payment Date, and P&I Amount
• Property Address, Borrower/Entity Names, and Closing Dates
• Insurance Effective and Expiration Dates
• Flood Certification, OFAC, and AML verification dates
• Validate that information on HUD, Note, Deed/Mortgage, and CRM aligns precisely.

3. Compliance & Policy Checks:

• Confirm compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and OFAC requirements.
• Verify that all coverage amounts meet minimum insurance and liability thresholds based on loan and property type.
• Ensure title effective dates, payoff statements, and escrow information meet established timelines and guidelines.

4. Reporting & Issue Resolution:

• Document discrepancies and deficiencies in the QC tracking system with detailed observations.
• Communicate findings to Post Closing, Underwriting, and Compliance teams for timely correction.
• Maintain tracking logs for re-verifications and follow-ups to ensure file completion before delivery.
• Participate in recurring QC reviews, audit calibration sessions, and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Educational

• Bachelors degree in finance, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

• Minimum 24 years of experience in U.S. Mortgage Post Closing / QC / Loan Delivery / Compliance.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting closing, title, and insurance documents.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong understanding of mortgage lending procedures and loan products
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, analytical and detail-oriented approach

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a correspondent, wholesale, or private lending environment.
• Familiarity with AML, OFAC, and fraud risk indicators.
• Prior exposure to capital markets documentation is an advantage.
• Certification in Mortgage QC or Compliance preferred.
